The Tudor company has held an esteemed position in the world of luxury watches for close to 100 years. Founded in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, Tudor started out producing watches for the military and professional divers. It became a popular brand among celebrities, famous athletes, and fashion icons.
Tudor has proven its staying power in the luxury watch industry, turning heads at Watches and Wonder 2025 with five impressive new releases. Let’s explore these high-end treasures and how they can dress up your wrist.
Pelagos Ultra Tudor Watch
The Pelagos Ultra positions itself as the new standard for Swiss dive watches. The 43 mm grade 2 titanium case offers a bold look and athletic functionality. Rated to 1000 meters, this watch means business.
Consumers prioritizing technical capability will adore features like the MT5612-U METAS Master Chronometer certification, which supports automatic movement with time and date functionality. It offers a 4Hz frequency with a 65-hour power reserve.
Strap choices include a titanium bracelet with a spring-based adjustable system and a luminous indicator that easily slides the band into place. Rubber straps and extensions are also available, providing an ideal wetsuit fit.
Black Bay 68 Tudor Watch
Tudor continues to expand on a favorite with a Black Bay 68 that’s bigger and better than ever. And by bigger, we mean a 43 mm case, exhibiting a trend that’s stepping away from the daintier cases of previous years. The sporty, bold look is ideal for consumers who favor the statement watch appeal.
The Black Bay is available in two face colors: a deep royal blue and a polished silver. Both are complemented by silver hands and indices, a change from previous gold accents, supporting a more modern aesthetic. Also lost are the faux rivets phasing out in contemporary watch designs.
The watch also features a manufactured Calibre MT5601-U self-winding mechanical movement, slightly larger than the standard MT5601 and equipped with a bidirectional rotor system and a 70-hour power reserve. Each watch comes with a 3-link stainless steel bracelet and a T-fit clasp.
Black Bay Pro Watch
The Black Bay Pro has been a Tudor favorite since its introduction in 2022, but 2025 brings something new. It features many traditional specs, including a 39 mm case and yellow 24-hour hand. Yet, it introduces an opaline face as an alternative to the original matte black, offering optimal readability and a sharp contrast with the satin-brushed steel case.
The watch offers many other tried and true features, including its MT652 movement, a 70-hour power reserve, 4Hz frequency, and date display. It is rated for 200 meters of water resistance.
Diversity abounds in the strap choices. Choose from the classic steel bracelet, a woven fabric strap with a yellow center accent, or a hybrid rubber and leather strap with yellow side accents, each fully adjustable.
Black Bay Chrono Watch
The new releases round out with the Black Bay Chrono, an update on previous models offering new bracelet, dial, and strap combinations. You can now enjoy the ‘panda’ (white face with a black bezel and sub-dials) or the reverse panda (black face with a white bezel and sub-dials) with three and five-link bracelet styles complete with a T-fit rapid adjustable clasp.
The watch was previously available in panda and reverse panda color combinations with the three-link bracelet, but the five-link bracelet is a new addition. The T-clasp is another update offering an 8mm adjustment range and ceramic ball bearing, which increase functionality and wear resistance. Traditional features include the signature snowflake hand, the 45-minute counter, and the date display.
Although there had been talk of a reworked case, the watch features the same 41 mm diameter by 14.4 mm thick case featured on previous models. It also offers a Manufacture Calibre MT5813 with a 70-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 200 meters.
About Tudor Watches
The Tudor watch company was founded by Hans Wilsdorf in Geneva in 1926. It was named after the English Tudor era, a time of exploration and a new dawning of a modern age in artistic history. His intention in founding the company was to make luxury more affordable and accessible.
As the company evolved, Tudor created a unique place in watchmaking history. Its creative choice of materials made it stand out from other brands. It also developed a signature snowflake hand, allowing divers to read time easily in murky waters.
With the evolution of smartwatches and other technologies, trends in watches have come and gone, but Tudor continues to stand out for its timeless fashion. It remains a beacon of excellence in the luxury watch industry.
