The Longines Spirit Collection
Introduced in 2020, the Spirit is Longines’ modern pilot’s watch, and unlike a straight reissue it was designed from the ground up while drawing on nearly a century of the brand’s aviation heritage. Longines equipped some of the greatest aviators and explorers of the early flight era, and the Spirit brings that pioneering legacy into a contemporary collection: clean, legible dials with applied numerals, robust cases, and a genuinely serious specification.
What sets the Spirit apart at its price is the movement. Every Spirit is powered by an exclusive Longines automatic caliber with a silicon balance spring for magnetic resistance and, crucially, chronometer certification from the COSC, the official Swiss testing institute. Spirit Models
Spirit (three-hand) : The core of the collection, a clean pilot’s watch in 37mm and 40mm cases, in steel or titanium, with a five-star chronometer-certified dial. The most versatile everyday Spirit, offered in a range of dial colours.
Spirit Zulu Time : The GMT model, and one of the collection’s most popular, with a bidirectional ceramic bezel and a true traveller’s second-time-zone function. Its name traces to the first Longines dual-time-zone wristwatch of 1925, “Zulu” being the aviator’s term for universal time. Offered in 39mm and 42mm, steel or titanium.
Spirit Chronograph and Flyback : The chronograph models, including a flyback complication that lets you reset and restart the timer in a single press, a function rooted in Longines’ 1930s aviation chronographs. Typically in a 42mm case.
Spirit Pilot and Pilot Flyback : Introduced in 2025, the most overtly pilot-styled Spirits, with aviation-inspired dials and a countdown bezel, in both automatic and hand-wound flyback chronograph versions.
