Watch Description
Reference 311.30.42.30.01.005 is the hesalite-crystal Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, the configuration closest to the watch NASA qualified for spaceflight. It pairs a 42mm stainless steel case with a black dial, a solid caseback, and the hand-wound Calibre 1861.
About This Reference
The hesalite version is the traditionalist’s Moonwatch. The acrylic crystal is the same material flown on Apollo missions, chosen because it crazes rather than shatters, and it can be polished at home to remove light scratches. The solid caseback carries the Seahorse medallion instead of exposing the movement. Omega discontinued the 1861 generation when the Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 arrived, which makes this reference a fixed point rather than a current production model. If you prefer a sapphire crystal and a display caseback, see the Speedmaster 311.30.42.30.01.002.
Condition and What’s Included
This Speedmaster is in pre-owned condition and includes its original box. Papers are not included. Every pre-owned watch is priced with its condition and completeness accounted for, and detailed photography of this specific watch appears above.
Authenticated and Serviced In-House
Our Swiss-trained watchmakers inspect every pre-owned Omega before it is listed, verifying the movement, confirming timekeeping, and refinishing the case and bracelet where appropriate. Components are checked against Omega specifications. As an Authorized Omega Dealer with an on-site service center, we support the watch after the sale. This Speedmaster carries our two-year international warranty and ships free nationwide.
Questions About This Reference
Is the 311.30.42.30.01.005 automatic or hand-wound?
Hand-wound. It uses the Calibre 1861, which requires manual winding, and that is part of the Moonwatch’s character.
What is the difference between the hesalite and sapphire Moonwatch?
Hesalite uses an acrylic crystal with a solid caseback. Sapphire uses a scratch-resistant crystal with a display caseback that shows the movement. Hesalite is closer to the original specification.
Does it come with box and papers?
This example includes the box. It does not include papers. Authentication is confirmed by our watchmakers regardless.
